The METRO STAR (originally Ozarks Pride Magazine) was launched in December 2003. Our first issue was a
digest size black and white GLBT news and
information magazine of just twelve pages. Our first printing was under 1,000 copies and distributed to Joplin, Springfield, Fayetteville and Tulsa. Needless to say,
the Ozarks Pride Magazine had a very meager beginning with just five advertisers.
What now is known as the
METRO STAR, is distributed statewide
Oklahoma, with other outlets throughout the four state region. Annual in print and online readership is approximately 144,000, printed copies 5,000 plus per month.
The printed version of each issue is duplicated in .pdf format for online readers.
The METRO STAR has evolved into a mature newspaper with syndicated columnist, staff writers, photographers, graphic designers and sales staff.
The METRO STAR has come of age and into our 7th year 2010.
The largest in print and online GLBT focused news publication in the state.
